Emma has been named one of Conde Nast's Top Travel Specialists of 2021. This prestigious award comes at the perfect time as Emma and her team have been working hard on People and Places branding over the last year.  Emma was nominated by Phoebe Weinberg of Greatways Travel who has been on this list since 2000 when Conde Nast initiated this. After completing a very detailed questionnaire and submitting two referrals from existing clients we waited to hear if Emma had been selected. 

"How does winning make you feel?" I asked Emma.

"Very proud and very honoured," she answered. "It is a very prestigious list and to be considered as one of the best in Africa and to have been referred by one of our own agents means a huge amount to me."

Emma has always worked in tourism and hospitality and has been actively contributing to this industry for 28 years now. She worked for some of the top hotels and lodges in Southern Africa before venturing out on her own and starting People and Places in 2012. Emma explains that she has always dreamt of being recognized as one of the top DMC’s and over the past 9 years People and Places has strived to offer the very best service, advice and support on the ground. 

“I feel that this award is recognition of all the hard work and always going that extra mile,” she said.
