Whilst regional and international tourism continues to be at a standstill in Zimbabwe, the Victoria Falls community have continued to remain proactive throughout August to ensure the once thriving tourism town remains prepared for the eventual return of visitors, and that the communities who live here are looked after as best as possible despite the economic impact of COVID-19.
One of the initiatives that we would particularly like to support is the Children’s Feeding Programme which has gained huge momentum. As of 24th August, the initiative had surpassed an incredible 103 588 meals which had been served to children in and around Victoria Falls Monday to Friday every week since the programme began in July. On average over 4,500 meals are being served daily. Victoria Falls is a tourism town and with many people out of work this year, feeding families is a top priority.
