Chisa Busanga Camp (alias “the nest”) derives its name from its remarkable architecture, as the 4 guest-units have been built as tree-houses, in the shape of birds-nests, to perfectly blend-in with nature, overlooking the plains. Chisa means birds nest in the local language. Each nest offers complete privacy and a birds-eye view on the plains, both from the inside as from your private observation deck.

Location
Chisa Busanga camp is located in the heart the Kafue National Park’s Busanga Plains, overlooking vast flood plains and dambos that teem with wildlife. Access to Chisa Busanga Camp is best by plane. Lusaka - Busanga airfield is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. Busanga - Ila Safari Lodge (Chunga Airfield) is approximately 20 minutes. For clients doing a combo of Ila and Chisa a road transfer between the 2 camps is possible and this is approximately 5 hours

Chisa Busanga Camp has 4 tented Nests, elevated to a height of 4 metres providing expansive views over the vast Busanga Plains
All tented nests are luxury en-suite with single vanities and separate toilet cubicles. Showers are open plan to the bedroom but have shower curtains for privacy.
1 Tented nest has an electrically operated lift and is conveniently located near the main building for guests with mobility restrictions.

Filter coffee, a variety of tea and cookies are provided. Hot water is delivered early morning by flask and can be delivered at any time of the day on request.

Chisa Camp features include:
A stunning plunge pool overlooking the plains and is situated adjacent to the main building and boma area.
An open-air dining room overlooks the Busanga Plain and this is where brunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served daily
The tented dining room and lounge are located on ground level with bathroom facilities. Dining is communal but individual seating arrangements can be provided. Private Dining can be provided in various different locations including meals served in rooms
Bar service is provided in the main area and a separate fireside boma is located next to the main area.
Chisa Busanga Camp activities include:
Game drives twice a day – at sunrise and in the evening. The evening drive returns 1.5 hours after dark.
Walking Safaris during the full season when Chisa Busanga Camp is open. A maximum of 6 people on a walking safari and the minimum age is 14.
Breakfast or lunch in the Bush.

THE FARM: Green Safaris runs a community farming project near the Nalusanga Gate. This project is aimed at benefitting the local communities by providing them with alternative food sources and giving them the opportunity to sell the excess to lodges and at the local market.
GOING GREEN: Chisa Busanga Camp is designed to run 100% off Solar. Rubbish that cannot be composted and used at the Ila Community Farm is separated and recycled where such a service is available in Zambia. They operate an electric game drive vehicle. They also focus on the little things by providing filtered water in re-useable glass bottles plus many other small efforts that all count towards creating a sustainable environment.
PACK FOR A PURPOSE: Will you have a little extra space in your luggage? Ila Safari Lodge supports the local Chunga Community as much as they can and they are often told by their clients that, had they known in advance, they would have loved to have brought supplies along with them.
So, if you would like to contribute, then much needed pens, educational books, posters, medicines, medical equipment and sports equipment will make a huge impact on this school. The Chunga school has a boarding facility and provides education to children from far and wide from the ages of 6 to 16. Many prominent businessmen and members of Zambian society schooled here.
2020 initiatives include Game Rangers International, Panthera, Hack the Poacher, Zambian Carnivore Project and South Luangwa Conservation Society.
